I am a 40 year old woman who has had Stargardts Disease for 30 years. This is a rare retinal degenerative condition that is not treatable with glasses, lenses or surgery. I started this blog to share some of my experiences with others who are affected by blindness or low vision.

Eye Health tips from FFB
I received an email today from the Foundation Fighting Blindness and I thought this was important information to share . There are 2 videos - one about what foods are good for your eyes, and the other about protecting your eyes from the environment. The FFB site is an excellent resource. They just held their ammual VISIONS Conference, so you can also read about/ watch videos from that. I did not attend the conference but I am thinking of going next year!
The tips for keeping your eyes healthy are worth checking out!
Shame on me for not wearing sunglasses as often as I should!

Great blog, Heather. This one is for everyone! We can all learn from these tips.
I loved seeing Dr. Steven Ross. I don't think I've seen him before. And he has been doing so much to try to move research along.
Well, I am going to have to take the time to watch the other videos. But, also, I am going to have to break out my sunglasses. And, of course, eat better!
Thanks, Heather. Another great one!!
Love your MA
heather, my wife has stargardt's and I was told by her opthamologist that Vitamin A is toxic to her eyes. She is supposed to avoid foods that is high in Vitamin A.
